「What is ORIAMI」
Ishikawa Wire Netting Co., Ltd. have been producing and marketing wire netting for more than 90 years, since our establishment in 1922. Based on our lengthy knowledge of wire netting which was originally used for filters and other industrial products, we have been manufacturing products that fit with the times. In 2016, a skilled craftsman used wire netting to create an orizuru (folded crane), which was so stunning that many people who saw it wanted to make one themselves. However, since wire netting is made from metal, it is rigid and sharp; only a professional craftsman could fold it because there was a danger of getting injured. After a process of trial and error, easy-to-fold wire netting, and ORIAMI® was developed. This foldable metallic mesh product was exhibited as folded pieces and tested in the market.
The product went on sale officially after receiving guidance from origami artist Mariko Miyamoto, under the supervision of Nippon Origami Association, so individuals can enjoy folding intricate items using wire net.
The origami to make with wire netting gets the high evaluation that solid feeling and preservation characteristics.

Che cosa è ORIAMI.
La Ishikawa Wire Netting Co., Ltd produce e distribuisce reti metalliche da più di 90 anni, fin dagli inizi della sua attività, nel 1922. Partendo dalla nostra lunga esperienza nel campo delle reti metalliche, che inizialmente venivano usate per produrre filtri e altri articoli industriali, abbiamo progettato prodotti più in sintonia con i tempi moderni. Nel 2016, uno dei nostri maestri artigiani usò la rete metallica per creare una gru origami (Orizuru); il risultato fu così sorprendente che molti decisero di provare a costruirne oggetti simili.
Ma la rete metallica è rigida e tagliente, e solo un artigiano esperto è in grado di maneggiarla in sicurezza. Dopo molti tentativi, siamo riusciti a mettere a punto ORIAMI, una rete metallica che si piega facilmente. Sotto la guida dell’artista di origami Mariko Miyamoto e della Nippon Origami Association, questo nuovo prodotto è stato presentato sotto forma di origami, e la reazione positiva del pubblico ci ha incoraggiati a metterlo in vendita ufficialmente.

ORIAMI, Bronzo
Le proprietà del bronzo si collocano in posizione intermedia fra quelle dell’acciaio e quelle del rame puro. La rete metallica in bronzo è l’ideale per chi affronta i primi lavori di piegatura con la rete Oriami.
ORIAMI, Acciaio
La rete in acciaio si piega senza sforzo e offre una sensazione vicina a quella dell’origami tradizionale. Le sue linee di piegatura risultano molto precise.
ORIAMI, Rame
Il rame si presta facilmente a essere trasformato in ORIAMI. Lavorando la rete in rame, si possono agevolmente modificare le forme durante le operazioni di piegatura, ottenendo lavori di grande delicatezza.
